My Top 6 TV Shows

by - 20.6.17

I'm sure we all love binge watching a TV show, but what do you do when one of your shows is finished or if you have to wait for a new season? Do not fear, because I'm here to tell you some amazing TV shows you can watch in the meantime. I've also included some GIFs for you to get a feel for the show because who doesn't love a good GIF, am I right? I've been scrolling through GIFs for so long, that even normal pictures seem like they're moving. Not good. I need to stop. But I think that ones I've chosen perfectly summarize these shows. BTW, you're welcome for all these new shows to binge watch!

1. Jane the Virgin (3 Seasons)

Jane the Virgin is loosely based on a Venezuelan telenovela and is about a girl named Jane, who has vowed to remain chaste till marriage. However, things turn around for her when she gets accidentally artificially inseminated during a routine checkup. On top of that, she has a crazy but lovable mom (Xo), is in a relationship with a supportive detective (Michael) and is going to have another man's (Rafael) baby, who is married to a sometimes nice but usually bitchy Czech woman. (Spoiler: Her name is Petra and she doesn't like Jane). If you like a comedy with some romance, and a delve into crazy family mysteries, then you will love this. My friends and I all LOVE this show. It's too amazing to put into words. PS: Jane cries. A lot. Like a lot a lot.

2. Ru Paul's Drag Race (9 Seasons)

All T, No shade gurllll. If you are a sassy ass queen, love to watch some drama and MAJOR shade being thrown, look no further. This is the show for you. With 9 seasons of comedy, sass and shade, you are set for the rest of your life. And if that's not enough, your makeup and dress skills are going to be put to absolute shame. Adore Delano from Season 7 is my IDOLLLLL.

3. Suits (6 Seasons)

If you prefer a show with more of a story and you're interested in law, then Suits is the show for you. Mike Ross has no clue what he's going to do with his life until he meets Harvey Specter. He manages to impress Harvey and land himself a place at Pearson Hardman, a famous law firm. There's just one problem; he's not actually a lawyer. He's never been to Harvard or any law school, so he's basically a fraud. As the show develops, the stakes get higher as he gets himself entangled in the lives of more people. Did I mention that he has a photographic memory?

4. Riverdale (1 Season)

The characters from Archie's comics are thrown into this amazing show called Riverdale, where in the small town, a boy named Jason Blossom has just been murdered. The show is centered around the families that have lived there and the secrets they hide. Veronica is hands down my favourite. That girl knows what she wants and how to get it done. I think Riverdale is one of those shows that you have to watch to actually be able to understand. It can get a bit confusing if I try to explain it to you. There's only one season so far, but there's definitely going to be a second one so now's your chance to catch up!

5. 13 Reasons Why (1 Season)

I don't think I have to say much about this TV show. It has such a strong and relevant message which I think is so necessary. I personally don't think that the scene of her killing herself was too graphic. I think it was needed to really show what an impact you can have on someone's life. I honestly can't put this show into words. It was beyond perfection and left me speechless. If you haven't watched it yet, then first of all who are you? and secondly, I would urge you to watch it because it's so poignant. I wouldn't recommend this to you if you're under 15/16, but in the end, it's your decision. I chose black and white GIFs because...well I don't know why...just because emotion.

6. Gilmore Girls (7 Seasons and the Reunion)

We couldn't just have 5 because that's an overused number so here's the sixth.

Of course, I had to include an old favourite. My mom used to watch Gilmore Girls sometimes when I was younger and I started watching it myself about 2 years ago I would say. It's such a chill show that you can watch to relax. It's one of those that doesn't require that much effort to follow which I LOVE. Don't get me wrong; we all love a good show that makes you think but sometimes, you just need something more laid-back. The best part is that it's so relatable and has a mix of genres like romance, comedy and something for everyone. And what's a TV show without a stuck up, posh grandma am I right? Well don't you worry. Gilmore Girls has one as well!

What's your favourite TV show? Let me know so that I can binge watch them because I am all caught up on mine.

  1. I've watched some of these and heard of others.
I think I watched 2 or 3 seasons of Suits before I gave up on it. I just wasn't enjoying it anymore.

To carry on with that theme, I watched 3 or 4 episode of '13 Reasons Why' before I got over it (but I had read the book MANY years ago... and know how it ends).

I'm considering giving Riverdale a go. I've heard a lot about it!

    1. I think sometimes shows can drag on too far and you start to lose interest. I felt the same with shows like Pretty Little Liars. I think it's about finding the one that interests you! I think you should. It's a lot more different than other shows. x Nikita
