MUA Luxe Glow Beam Highlighter Review

Yup, I'm reviewing another highlighter. I need to stop with these. I know, I know I have a serious addiction. I NEED to be stopped but what can ya girl do? I just like highlighter wayyyy too much. Today's highlighter is slightly different (not that much but okay, that's my excuse for today).

PACKAGING AND COST

Basically, this highlighter has the coolest packaging I've probably ever seen. The highlighter comes in a little pot and when you twist it, the product comes out in loose shavings. This saves you so much time with trying to tap out a reasonable amount into the lid.

However, the rest of the packaging is not so great. The lid is very loose. If you were to pick up the highlighter by the lid, even by accident, the bottom part would just fall right off. This is a big no-no when it comes to travel. It's going to create a right mess in your makeup bag. Store it wisely and there'll be no problems!

It's available on the MUA Store for 5 Pounds and for my Belgium babes, you can buy it at Kruidvat for 7.49 Euros.

THE PRODUCT

I don't know if it comes in more than one shade, but the shade I have is Gold.

I've noticed a bit of fallout but it is a loose highlighter so I guess that's understandable. Definitely tap off the excess to prevent it from spreading all over your cheek and face. The powder is quite finely milled, there isn't any chunky glitter so it applies very smoothly onto the skin. You only need the smallest amount on your brush. It's easy to layer up if you need/would like to without looking cakey.

The shade is a darker version of the Mary-Lou. It's a true gold that will look stunning on dark skin. If you have fairer skin, you can still use it, but I don't know if it will show up as blinding as on darker skin. As you can tell from the swatch, it's one hell of a highlight.

OVERALL

Definitely pick this up! I can't believe I hadn't heard of this before now, especially considering the colour payoff, the unique packaging and the cheap price.

What are your favourite highlighters? I WANT TO TRY MORE!
