HAYYY 2018, BAIII 2017

Each year seems to go by faster than the previous year, cliche I know but it's true. Everyone seems to be doing posts like this so even though I hate to jump on the bandwagon, I thought it would be something nice to read back on in a couple of years time.

2017 was a pretty big year for me. I sat my GCSE mocks in January which was scary, to say the least. I turned 16 in March which is apparently a big life milestone. I personally didn't see or feel much of a difference but hey ho! Soon after I went on study leave and sat my actual GCSEs. That was probably one of the most stressful times of the year. I had a great few weeks after my exams, hanging out with my friends and visiting some new places. Summer was a pretty boring one, so I'll skip right over that. And once we got back, I started the IB Diploma which has been a hefty load tbh. It's been extremely stressful and busy, but hopefully rewarding at the end of the two years. Ending the year on a high after spending two weeks in Dubai (see it all on my Insta); I couldn't ask for anything better.

Also, I read 46 books this year and my goal is only going to increase in 2018. Just a side note if you were wondering. :)

Blogging-wise, I hit 100 readers in September (read all about it here) which is CRAAAZAAY to think about. After all the negative experiences with my old (and now deleted) blog, I was hesitant to start blogging again, but I'm SOOO glad I did. We're at over 170 now and it still blows my mind. I hope for the family to grow this new year. But it's not at all about the numbers. I've made some UH-MAZING blogging friends this year and your sweet comments honestly make my day. I cannot thank you enough!

I've also learned a lot this year, and don't worry, I'm not going to go all motivational and all but there are a couple of things I want to quickly chat about.

Friendships are one thing that I learned a shit ton about this year. Best friends moving away. Toxic relationships. Finding your true friends. Not always relying on friendships. Friendships are hard and complicated things and it takes time to find your path but I'm so happy with my friendship status at the moment.

This year affirmed what I want to study at university. It's crazy to think that this time next year, I would have applied to university and (hopefully!) be getting some offers. I need to push myself to work as hard as I possibly can this year.

So, what are my "resolutions" for 2018?

Well, this year it's kind of different because I usually don't stick to my resolutions. There are a few things that I do want to accomplish though.

Mindfulness, Healthy body and mind, Strong work ethic and Friendships.

I want to reflect on the world around me. I want to get in shape and feel good in my body. I want to work as hard as I can to get me to places I want to go. I want to strengthen my friendships with you guys and in real life. I want to make more friends through my blog and share what I love.

Of course, I want to grow as a blogger but I'm not setting myself any goals. All I want is for this family to expand all over the world. I also want to collab more this year so if any of you bloggers want to collaborate, I would love to discuss that with you.

I want to listen to what you guys want to see on my blog so do let me know. I'm kinda stuck for ideas.

Thank you all for reading and I wish you a very happy new year! I love you all so much.
x Nikita

  1. Hahaha I felt exactly the same about turning 16. I was all like: that's it? What's all the fuss about? (That's probably because there's no drinking or driving milestone at 16 anymore in my country).
I admire your decision not to set any blogging goals for yourself. I've always done so and they made me stress to no one before January was even halfway over. This year I just forgot to set my goals, which has me stressing out as well because it makes me feel so freaking lost, hahaha.
Hope 2018 will be an amazing year for you!

    1. Ahaha exactly! I don't drink anyways and I'm not planning on driving so it's pretty pointless.

Thank you so much! It stresses me out when I don't meet my goals so I want to allow my platform to grow naturally and not have to worry about the numbers. That's what's great about my blog being my hobby and not my job!

Thank you again and same to you! Have a fab year lovely xx Nikita

  4. It sounds like you had a great 2017! I can't wait to see how 2018 pans out for you - the goals you've set yourself and fab and very achievable, so it'll be really great watching you achieve them. Also, you have set the bar so high with how many books you read last year! I'm feeling really inadequate now ahaha. One of my goals is actually to read more, but there's no way I'd hit 46!

I hope I achieve them all too. Ahaha I've been reading TONS from a very young age so it's only natural that I've read that many books. It's all about pushing ourselves and I hope it's motivated you to read more as well xx Nikita

  5. The amount of books you read is crazy! I can't even find the time to read the stack of books i have on my desk. I buy so many books but i just never have the time to read it unfortunately. Definitely something to work on this year! It also seems like you had a very eventful year, i hope 2018 is good to you.

  6. Wow I love how much you read! I just recently finished a book because my November goal was to read at least one. I used to be a huge reader but then I just stopped. I don't think I'll set myself a number like yours because I know I won't do it. But I love your ambition to do that!! (P.s I replied to your comment on my blog)
